Warnings to seek shelter are issued after a North Korean missile flies over Japan.
"Believed to have been fired from North Korea" missile
The northern Aomori prefecture was identified as the target region.
The following letter added that "it is suspected that the aforementioned missile has gone across the Pacific Ocean."
The statement continued, "Do not approach anything unusual and immediately notify the police or fire department."
The original warning led the American Embassy in Tokyo to advise its own Americans in Japan to exercise caution.
