Student at Purdue University dies in the dorm; roommate is taken into custody
Early on Wednesday, a student at Purdue University passed away in his dorm room, and his roommate is being detained in the Tippecanoe County Sheriff's Jail.
Varun Manish Chheda, 20, of Indianapolis, was discovered dead in his McCutcheon Hall dorm, according to county coroner Carrie Costello.
Unidentified roommate of his was arrested shortly after midnight.
On January 14, 2014, Andrew Boldt, a student at Purdue, died at the institution's Electrical Engineering building.
Cody Cousin admitted guilt in relation to the incident, but later that year, while still incarcerated, he committed suicide.
Officials claimed that while the matter was still being investigated, the suspect was the one who called the police.
