Willie Snead joins the 53-man roster for the 49ers.
In preparation for their matchup against the Rams on Monday night, the 49ers have made a few personnel changes.
In response, linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair was put on injured reserve.
Snead spent some time with the 49ers during training camp, but at the end of August, he was not on the roster.
In September, he alternated between the team's practise squad and the active roster, although he did not play.
Last season, he played in two games for the Panthers and seven for the Raiders.
Al-Shaair has a knee injury that, according to head coach Kyle Shanahan, will keep him out for a number of weeks.
For the game on Monday, the 49ers also promoted receiver Malik Turner and running back Tevin Coleman from the practise squad.
